IPL 2021 must (mustn't) be stopped...

 Covid second wave is hitting like a Tsunami in India. Daily 3 lakh new positive cases are reporting in the country death toll is now above 2000. 

Peoples are dying without oxygen. In the country capitals hospitals are not giving new admissions. Hospitals capacities already exploded.

 Relatives are running all around to make sure oxygen cylinders!. Patients who got oxygen cylinders and not beds, lying under trees with Oxygen mask or in vehicles, country is facing a huge oxygen scarcity. 

At the same time vaccination is not yet reached a comfortable condition. Only 1.6% population is fully Vaccinated 8% is took only one dose. 

Mass vaccinations and strict controlling measures is the only way to hold this Tsunami. India is facing a never ever happened situation. 

Many countries wake up from the covid catastrophy But now india in in great trouble. 

I used this much time just for giving you sneek peak on Indian Covid situation.

 Now lets move to Indian Premier League. IPL is conducting in This India where thousands die everyday because of a virus. 

Yes IPL is conducting with strict covid protocols. 

Players staffs and the conductors are in Bio secure bubble for months.

 Every player is tested many times and confirmed that no one is a potential carrier of virus. 

All the matches are conducted without the presence of audiences.

 IPL didn’t play any role in Covid spreading and everyone associated with IPL is safe from covid.

 The question is then why should IPL be stopped??? 

When technically speaking there is no need. 

But in other aspect is it fair to celebrate and conduct this cricket festival when thousands dying every day in the same country??? 

Where lakhs are infected by the virus?? 

When the people of the country crying for oxygen is it fair to conduct this sports, business, festival??? 

Thiss question come to lights by because, the famous Indian Newspaper The INDIAN EXPRESS stopped the coverage of IPL until Covid situation comes under control Indian express editor wrote

In such a tragic time, we find it incongruous that the festival of cricket is on in India, with layers of bio bubbles creating protection. This is commercialism gone crass. The problem is not with the game but its timing. Cricket, Too, must accept that we are passing through an unprecedented crisis. In the circumstances, The New Indian Express has decided to suspend IPL coverage in the newspaper with immediate effect Till a semblance of normalcy is restored. This is a small gesture towards keeping the nation’s attention focused on life and Death issues. We are sure that our readers will see the point. These are times when we must stand as one nation with one resolve. - Editor

 When this kind of stressful situations all around. All the news social medias are filled with covid depressed situation.

 IPL is the only entertainment left. 

To get some relief they need their favorite team to performance well and win 

Other than entertainment purposes the economical side is also relevant.

 Due to pandemic and lockdown indian economy is heavily affected only now it is recovering then comes this second wave.. 

IPL is a big contributer to indian economy

According to study of KPMG, Pervious year IPL contributed more than 5000Cr to indian economy. 

Last year IPL is not even conducted in India even though this much contribution 

 IPL is in the 25 th position of world richest sports leagues. - They reached this position within a short span of 13 years. 

 IPL is giving so many job opportunities 

 As bio secure bubble is strictly monitoring, this is a big relief to hotel and hospitality sector of India - Which is heavily hit by pandemic.
