3 T20 world cups (2012,2014,2016)
2 Champions trophy tournaments (2013,2017) and
one world Test championship (2021).
In these tournaments Indian cricket team played 6 finals ! And won 2 finals and 2 semi finals.
If I slim the time period after 2013 india didn’t won any major tournaments!.
After 2013 India played 4 finals and lost all of them.!
Yes that is a sad statistics.
Captain Kohli is breaking all other records as captain but still a ICC trophy is missing in his shelf.
2011 Cricket World Cup
It was the 10 th edition of cricket world cup,which is held in India and SreeLanka.
India had his last World Cup trophy 28 year’s back, that was in 1983 India won the World Cup trophy for the first time.After that India had to wait until 2011 to once again pick up the trophy.
The final was at Wankhede stadium Mumbai . India vs co host SreeLanka.
India beat the Pakistan to reach the finals while SreeLanka won over Newzealand.
SreeLanka batter first and put up a target of 275 runs,
India lost Sachin and Sehwag but Partnership of Gambhir and Dhoni made the possible to chase the target.
No Indian fans couldn’t forget that winning six from the captain ever.
2012 T20 World Cup
That was the 4th edition of Men’s Twenty Twenty World Cup.
In which India was the founding Champions. T20 world cup was held in SreeLanka.
In the final SreeLanka faced Westindies and Westindies won the Trophy.
Only in this tournament India didn’t enter in the semifinal stages.
India came 3rd position in the group in Super 8 round. That too only because of Net Run Rate .first 3 temas had same points but India hadn’ta good NRR.
2013 ICC Champions Trophy
That year Icc champions was held in England and Wales.
Final was between India and England.
India beat SreeLanka in the semifinals while
England beat South Africa to reach the finals.
Final was on a rainy day, due to heavy rain the match was shortened to 20 overs.
India scored 129/7 in the limited overs while England could only score 124.
India won by 5 runs.
Shikarr Dhawan was the super hero for India in the tournament.
That was the last Major Icc trophy India won in the past decade
2014 T20 world cup
This edition of T20 world cup was held in Bangladesh .
That tournament was in a Super 10 round.
And India enters to the semi finals as the Group Champions.
In the semifinals India played against South Africa
And SreeLanka against Westindies and SreeLanka made their sweet revenge for the loss in the finals of 2012.
Final was between India and SreeLanka.
SreeLanka scored 134 runs while Indias Chase ended up in short of 4 runs.
SreeLanka won the title for the first time. And that was a revenge for the 2011 finals
2015 Cricket World Cup
This was held in Australia and Newzealand. Everyone remembering that early morning matches.
India was well set for the championship. And proved it by winning six out of six games in the groupstage.
And produly entered in to the Semifinals, but the fate was against India.
Australia Put up a huge run Chase for India, Australia scored 328 runs , but Indian men couldn’t reach any near of it. Indian innings ended in 233 runs only.
India lost by 95 runs
In the other semi finals Newzealand beats South Africa but in the finals they lost to Australia
2016 T20 world cup
This was another semi final loss for India.
This edition of T20 World Cup is held at India .
In the super 10 round India comes second in the pool.
India faced Westindies in thr semifinals and India put up a 192 runs target for the Westindies normally that’sa huge total for a T20 match but the Westindies chased it down and India lost.
That was the highest ever runchase in knockout stages if ICC t20 World Cup.
In the other semi England Beats Newland and
In the Final Westindies beat England and pick the trophy for the second time.
2017 ICC Champions trophy
This is another final loss for India not only a loss it was a humiliating loss.
This edition is also held in England and wales.
India beat neighbor Bangladesh to reach final
And Pakistan beat England
Pakistan vs India. Even group stage matches between India and Pakistan has a separate spirit and tension.
What about a final !!
But things didn’t go well for India , Indians like to forget that day. Because that’s so humiliating for them.
It was a huge loss India lost for 180 runs !!!
Pakistan scored 338/4 but India can only score 158 runs.
Indian batting collapsed like never before.
In that 158 runs Hardik Pandya alone scored 76 runs.

2019 Cricket world cup
The last edition of cricket World Cup is conducted at England and Wales.
India went under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
In this edition Round Robin method was used. A team play’s with all other teams. Hence only one group and point table
India were the table toppers in the 9 matches won 7 .and
Enters to the Semifinals.
India has to face Newzealand in the semi. Newzealand put up a total of 239 .
But India could only score 221 runs. Newzealand won by 18 runs.
India had chances till the final overs. Dhoni was at crease and slowly building up. But that unfortunate run-out!!! That throw by Guptill who can forget..
That’s the turning point in the game.
But Newzealand couldn’t win the finals.
That was the best best best ever final in the history of Cricket World Cup.
In the chase collapsing England batting order then rescue of Ben stokes and Buttler , Tight last over.
Wrong decision by the umpire in the overthrow.
Match being tie. Then super over that too went on tie.
Guptills run-out.
And finally with the advantage of Boundaries England won the Trophy for the first time.
2021 world Test championship
I know no need of a detailed explanation.
Here too India went as the group champions.
Winning all the series played expect with Newzealand.
But in the finals that rain eaten days India could only put a Target of 139 runs in the second innings for the Kiwis and
Comfortably they reached there.and
Claiming their first ICC trophy in years.
They really deserved this
